SEATTLE, WA — A 26-year-old man was shot early Sunday on a Capitol Hill street full of nighttime partygoers, the Seattle Times reported.

Police began receiving 911 calls at 2:20 a.m., reporting a shooting on the 1200 block of Pine Street, police said Sunday. Bystanders were performing CPR on the victim when police arrived.

The man, who was shot in the leg, was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

The Seattle police gang unit, which is investigating the shooting, said witnesses gave conflicting accounts of the incident. Detectives are now examining evidence left at the scene as they work to identify a suspect, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the tip line at 206-233-5000.
