Springville, Iowa – Linn County Communications Operators received a 9-1-1 call from a bank teller around 11:41 a.m. on June 1 regarding a robbery that just happened at Security State Bank.
When authorities arrived at 607 South Street, they were told a white male in his mid-30s entered the building and displayed a handgun at a teller window.
After being given an unknown amount of money, the suspect left on foot headed north.
Authorities say no one was hurt during the incident.
The robbery is under investigation by the Mt. Vernon Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol, the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
